E hoje, ja nao aguentava mais olhar para esse vermelho na unha, e decidi tentar fazer uma francesinha colorida, com as pontas rosas. O rosa que eu escolhi foi o Raspberry, da mesma marca. O resultado...

Today, I couldn't stare to the red in my nails anymore, so I decided to do a coloured french mani, using pink for the tips. The pink chosen was Raspberry, also by NYC Color. And the result is...

Lembra do meu anel de coruja? Olha ele ai de novo, mas dessa vez o esmalte eh uma mistura nude que eu fiz. Usei uma demao do Apricot da NYC Color como base, depois apliquei uma camada de um rosinha bem claro, o Manicure Pink tambem da NYC Color, e por ultimo, apliquei o Coney Island Cotton Candy da OPI.

Remember my owl ring? It's here again! But this time the nail polish I'm wearing is a nude mixture I made. I applied one coat of Apricot by NYC Color as base, one coat of a very light pink called Manicure Pink, also by NYC Color, and lastly I applied one coat of Coney Island Cotton Candy by OPI.

Amarelinho + Verde Militar

Yellow + Military Green


Pelo que vi, a cor de esmalte sensacao do momento eh o amarelinho, como visto nas unhas de Lady Gaga no Grammy Awards (cor Yellow Brick Road, da Deborah Lippmann), na passarela de Chanel (cor Mimosa) ou de Yves Saint Laurent (cor Electric Yellow). Eu ja tinha feito as unhas com um amarelo ovo, lembram? Mas resolvi testar um amarelinho pastel, bem clarinho, e o escolhido foi o Lemon, da NYC Color. 


It seems that the new 'in colour' is yellow, as seen on Lady Gaga during the Grammy Awards (Yellow Brick Road, by Deborah Lippmann), on the Chanel runway (Mimosa) and now with the release of Yves Saint Laurent Electric Yellow. I already used yellow in one of my manis, remember? But this time I decided to try out a lighter shade of yellow, this NYC Color Lemon polish.

Olha, devo dizer que eu detestei esse esmalte. Nao necessariamente a cor, mas sim a consistencia dele. Ele eh super ruim de passar, fica super grosso e nao cobre muito bem. Eu passei 2 demaos e de tao grosso, ficou impossivel passar uma terceira camada. Sem contar que pra limpar as beiradinhas foi um sacrificio! Quanto mais eu limpava, mais sujo ficava! Um show de horror! 


I have to tell you that I hated this polish. Not the colour but its consistency. It doesn't spread easily, it streaks and the result is super thick, so thick that I couldn't even paint a third coat. To clean the sides was another hassle, the more I cleaned it the dirtier it got. Terrible!

Mas, como nada eh desperdicado aqui, eu resolvi fazer uma misturinha. Tentei fazer um verde militar metalizado. Para tal, misturei as seguintes cores, respectivamente: American Apparel Hassid, NYC Color Slate, Lemon e Aqua.


But nothing here is wasted, so I decided to make a mixture of colours. I tried to make a metallic military green mixing the following colours, respectively: American Apparel Hassid, NYC Color Slate, Lemon and Aqua.

Na foto ta parecendo um grafite metalizado, mas juro pra voces que, ao vivo, o tom tava muito mais verde. 
It seems like a metallic graphite in the picture, but I swear it was much greener in natural light.

Acho que ja faz uns 6 meses que eu fiz as unhas com essa cor, mas nao sei por que nunca postei aqui. Eu queria um azul bem escuro, mas esse Rhythm N Blues da NYC Color, pelo que voces podem ver, nao eh tao escuro assim, mesmo com as 3 demaos de esmalte. A cor me lembrou muito da caneta Bic! =) Acho que se eu usasse uma demao de preto por baixo, o azul ficaria mais escuro. E ai, gostaram?

I think it's been about 6 months that I made my nails using this colour, but I don't know why I haven't posted it before. I wanted a darker shade of blue, but this Rhythm N Blues by NYC Color varnish, as you can see, is not that dark, even with the 3 coats I painted. This colour reminded me of those Bic pens! =)  Maybe if i had used 1 coat of a black polish under the blue it would look darker. So, did you like it?

Unhas em homenagem ao meu blog! Nail art in honor of my blog!

Eu sei que o carnaval ja esta no finzinho, mas eu nao estava conseguindo acessar o meu blog para postar essas unhas, por isso estou um pouco atrasada! hehehe. E ja que o momento eh de festividades, nada melhor do que uma nail art para as unhas! Bom, eu resolvi fazer, despretenciosamente, o meu proprio tom de azul para usar de base, ja que eu nao tinha nada parecido com o que eu queria. Com essa mistureba toda, eu nao alcancei o tom inicial que eu desejava, mas encontrei pelo caminho um tom de lavanda muito bonito!

I know carnaval is almost over, but I couldn't access my blog lately, that's why I'm a bit late! hehehe. Since this is a moment of festivities (at least in Brazil), nothing is better than nail art to represent! Well, I decided, unpre­ten­tiously, to make my own type of blue to use as base, once I didn't have anything similar to what I wanted. With all this mix, I didn't reach the shade I initially wanted, but I found a very pretty lavender tone! 

Eu misturei as seguintes cores: Raspeberry, da NYC Color; Cotton da American Apparel; Claire's Blue.

Faca as nuvens usando um esmalte branco. Nesse caso eu usei um delineador liquido da Claire's que eu comprei especialmente para fazer nail art, pois eles sao faceis de usar e baratos. O unico problema eh que eles saem muito facil, portanto eu nao recomendo usa-los se vc quiser que sua nail art dure bastante tempo e sempre use um top coat para finalizar!

Draw the clouds using a white nail polish. In this case I used a liquid eyeliner from Claire's that I bought especially for nail arts, because they are easy to use and cheap. The only problem is that they are very washable, so I don't recommend using it if you want your art to last long and always use a top coat to finish it!

 

 

Vintage Pink

Minhas unhas, ultimamente, estavam bem quebradicas e nao cresciam mais. Dai, eu parei de pinta-las, para elas "respirarem" um pouco. Por isso, nao estava mais escrevendo sobre unhas aqui no blog. Mas, finalmente elas cresceram e estao um pouco mais fortes! Eba! O esmalte de hoje eh o Vintage Pink, da NYC Color, um rosa amarronzado vintage, cintilante e meio cremoso.

Lately, my nails have been brittle and weren't growing anymore. So, I stopped painting them just so they could "breath" a little. That's why I haven't been writing about nails in my blog. But, finally they grew and are a bit stronger! Yay! Today's polish is Vintage Pink, by NYC Color, a shimmery, creamy, brownish vintage pink.

Ja mostrei aqui ideias de unhas prata e unhas listradas para usar de inspiracao nas festas de fim de ano. Mas, se voce quer adicionar uma corzinha a sua producao, por que nao investir nesse tom de azul/verde? Ele tem uma cintilancia bem de leve, com um acabamento meio perolado, mas nao eh nada brega.

I've shown here ideas of silver nails and striped nails to use as inspiration this holidays. But, if you're looking for some colour for your production, why not using this blue/green nail varnish? It has a very subtle sparkle, with a pearl finish, but it's not tacky at all.

Acho que essa cor combina com roupas de tons pastel, branco, preto ou cores mais claras. Eu evitaria usar com cores fortes, tipo o vermelho. Mas essa eh so a minha humilde opiniao! Se voce acha que fica legal, va em frente e arrase, amiga! =o)

I think this shade goes well with clothes in pastel, white, black or lighter tones. I'd avoid strong colours like red, for example. But this is only my humble opinion! If you think it's cool and looks good, go ahead and use it! =o)

Outra inspiracao para fazer as suas unhas nesse fim de ano. Essa unha eh perfeita para o reveillon, para combinar com qualquer tom de roupa, inclusive o branco. Eu combinei duas cores, um prata e um incolor com particulas de cintilancia. Nao chega a ser glitter, pois as particulas sao bem minusculas, mas eh beeem brilhante. Um luxo so! rs Eu tirei fotos sob diversas luzes, pois nenhuma fazia jus a cor super brilhante do esmalte. A terceira foto eh a que ficou mais parecida. Espero que gostem!

Another inspiration to make your nails this holidays. This mani is perfect for the new year, to match any outfit colour that you choose, including white. I combined two shades, a silver one and a clear one with shiny particles. I wouldn't call it glitter because the particles are very tiny, but it is very sparkling! I took photos under different lighting, because none of them were capturing the true sparkles of the polish. The third picture is the one that best represents. I hope you like it!

Nossa! Ta dificil atualizar o blog ultimamente, mas nao me esqueci de voces, nao! E a unha de hoje eh bem assim, tipo "cheguei"! Uma cor bem tchans, vibrante e otima tambem para usar como base para unhas decorativas, pois da pra contrastar com varias outras cores. Eu decidi usar essa cor (NYC Color Shocking Pink) em homenagem a minha cachorra, que era a cachorra mais legal do mundo! Sempre muito alegre, pronta pra brincar e nao reclamava nunca! Link, descanse em paz, meu amor!

Wow! It's been difficult to update the blog lately, but I haven't forgot about you guys! Today's nails is something like "I'm heeere"! The colour is very vibrant and great for using as base for those decorative nails, 'cause you can contrastar with many other colours. I decided to use this colour (NYC Color Shocking Pink) in honour of my dog, who was the coolest, nicest dog in the world! She was always very happy, always ready to play and never complained about anything! Link, rest in peace, my love!
