Para ir ate la, alugamos uma bicicleta em San Pedro de Atacama - cerca de US$12 por pessoa pelo dia inteiro - e chegamos em aproximadamente 20 minutos. Mas, voce tem outras duas opcoes: ir andando (45 a 55min) ou pagar um tour - que na minha opiniao nao vale a pena, pois eh bem mais caro - cerca de US$36 por pessoa - e a unica diferenca eh que ao inves de andar debaixo de um sol escaldante, voce tem o conforto do onibus de turismo e um guia para te explicar o que vem escrito no panfletinho.
Ah, vale ressaltar que durante o dia o sol eh beeem forte, portanto nao esquecam de levar muita agua, chapeu e protetor solar!
Pukara de Quitor is located 3km away from San Pedro de Atacama, Chile. Pukara means "fortress" and it was built by the Atacameno people on the slope of Quitor to defend themselves from other villages that populated South America. Here, all the structures are made of local rocks and are located on the margins of San Pedro and Grande rivers, in a very inclined area. It dates back to the 12th century and was declared a National Monument in 1982.
To go there, we rented a bike in San Pedro de Atacama - around US$12 per person for the whole day - and we got there in aprox. 20 minutes. But you have two other options: walking (45 to 55min) or you can pay a tour agency to take you there - which in my opinion isn't worth your money because it's way more expensive - around US$36 per person - and the only difference is instead of you walking under a very hot sun, you have the comfort of a tour bus and a guide to explain everything that the brochure says.
Ah, it's worth mentioning that it's really hot during the day so don't forget to take a hat, sunscreen and lots of water with you!
