Hoje, a homenagem eh para o eterno Beatle, John Lennon, assassinado ha exatos 30 anos. Em 8 de dezembro de 1980, Lennon foi baleado pelas costas ao sair do edifico onde morava, o Dakota, em Nova York. Seu assassino, Mark Chapman, na epoca com 25 anos, disse que fez isso para chamar a atencao. Acho que ele conseguiu o que queria, ne?

Today, my homage is to the eternal Beatle, John Lennon, assassinated 30 years ago. In December 8, 1980, Lennon was shot from behind leaving the Dakota building, where he lived in New York. The murderer, Mark Chapman, said he did so because he was seeking for attention. I guess he got what he wanted, eh?

A cada ano, os fãs do líder dos Beatles se concentram em uma área do Central Park batizada de "Strawberry Fields", em alusão ao título de uma canção dos Beatles. Um mosaico no chão traz a inscrição "Imagine" (foto abaixo), uma das músicas mais famosas compostas por Lennon em 1971, após o rompimento dos quatro garotos de Liverpool.

Every year, Beatles fans, reunite in Central Park, in an area called "Strawberry Fields", one of Beatles songs, where there's a mosaic with the word "Imagine" (photo below), one of the most famous songs written by him, in 1971.

Como parte do tour Up and Coming, Sir Paul McCartney tocou em 5 shows com ingressos totalmente esgotados no Brasil e Argentina, em novembro desse ano para 300.000 fas! De acordo com o site do cantor, os shows foram realmente especiais e eles fizeram um video de agradecimento pelo carinho recebido, chamado "Thank you Brazil & Argentina". Ele tocou dia 7 de novembro no estadio Beira Rio, em Porto Alegre; 10 e 11 de novembro no estadio River Plate em Buenos Aires (Argentina) e 21 e 22 de novembro no estadio do Morumbi em Sao Paulo.

As part of the Up And Coming Tour, Paul played 5 sell out shows in Brazil and Argentina this November and to an amazing 300,000 fans! According to his website the shows were truly special, and they have put together a video called "Thank you Brazil & Argentina", with highlights to thank all the fans who supported him. He played on November 7th at Beira Rio Stadium in Porto Alegre, Brazil; November 10th & 11th at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina and November 21st & 22nd at  Morumbi Stadium in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
